Part 3 ~ The Official 7th Birthday Extravaganza Finale

In Part 3 ~ The Finale we are featuring Emily's little birthday celebration at home. Emi has a small group of close friends in a sea of many. It just so happens that of that small group of 5, three have birthdays within hours of hers. Sometimes it makes planning friend parties difficult, there is a lot of scheduling going on. Last year Emi got the big birthday party. This year I think it's only fair Billy get to have it. He is after all turning 5...It's a milestone in my book. That being said, Emily had a small party at home on Friday after school for her little group of friends (Brooklynn, Kassidy, Gracie, Kate and Nicole). The plan was to make homemade pizzas (Emi's request), swim, eat, play whatever. I think the girls had a blast. I was a little worried with a group that small the girls might not all mesh, but they did great! What was supposed to be just a quick little celebration turned into a full-blown party that lasted well into the evening. Funny how that has a way of happening around here, huh?
The unexplained bursts of spontaneous dancing my be easily attributed to the loads of candy decorating the table.... maybe, it's just a theory.

Happy Birthday Emily James. 7 years....... ...sniff, sniff.

Even though I promised Emi I would keep Billy and Abi out of her moment. I kept catching them sneaking candy from the table and joining in on the freak dance moments. Then Emily had a spectacular idea....Billy as DJ - BG (boy genius). He looks the part doesn't he!

Part 2 of the Birthday Extravaganza!

In Part 2 of Emily's Birthday Extravaganza we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's house to celebrate with the family (Emi's favorite part). There was swimming, most likely the last of the season, eating, the most delicious carne asada from the beach and presents of course.

The swimming:

I guess I missed all the pictures of the eating part. Can't imagine why! Can you hear me me smacking my lips? Emi scored in the Barbie department this year. She is sooo happy!

The Presents:

A very fancy grown-up girl Stella and Dot necklace. We'll see how long it takes her to notice that I am wearing it...

Grandma Bette has a way of fulfilling every birthday wish. These shoes were ranking pretty high on the birthday wish list. Now Emi and Abi can have a dance off in their Twinkle Toes. I wonder if they think it will make them better dancers?

She refused to show any real excitement about any gift this year, but I know she was super excited about these shoes. Hopefully by the time 8 comes around she will understand that it is WAY more fun to buy presents for little girls that squeal and dance than the it is to buy for girls that are too cool for school...

Emily's 7th Birthday Extravaganza! ~ Part 1

Here she is, the birthday girl, on her actual birthday. At that very moment she was turning 7 years old. 7 years...., sigh.

Here she is at school. She was the birthday princess all day. The kids and I brought her popsicles to share with the class as an afternoon treat. I think they were a hit? Her teacher, Mrs. Hunt-Kumm made us take them outside eat. We sang happy birthday, passed out treats and headed home to get ready for part 2.

Pets.

These are our pets. Some we've had forever, some will be short-lived, but all are loved.

The original. Possibly the cutest choice we've made, but now he is old and wrinkly. Smelly and tired. He'll be 10 years old this year. The most recent choice was not even a choice. He chose us! I guess we're becoming famous in the ugly pet world.... This is Mr. Toad. Contrary to what the picture might portray, he is HUGE. He has also taken up residence in Do-Si-Do's nest. She had to move. Who knew a toad had more pull than a chicken?

Jeeps. My favorite pre-historic pet. She is 8 years old this year.
Last but not least...The Crafty Ladies of Dudleyville. Honestly, I still can't believe we have chickens for pets. I don't think Travis can believe it either. They are pretty funny girls though and we couldn't imagine not having them now. They are, all but one, laying eggs now AND we are eating them. Well, to be correct Travis and the kiddos are eating them. I collect them. It's a whole different type of relationship I have with them.

XOXO.
