Happy 2nd Birthday Abigail!

ABIGAIL BROWNING DEATSCH

My sweet baby girl is 2 years old. Time flies.

Per tradition (yes, we all know, I am nuts about tradition) we celebrated this momentous occasion in Young at the Ranch for Pleasant Valley Days. What could be better than a whole town celebrating and a parade and lots of activity on your birthday? This year things were a bit rushed with all the traveling we were doing and I completely dropped the ball on planning her special day, but I think she still had a good time. She started the day by riding on Mr. Augustine's wagon in the Pleasant Valley Days parade, eating more candy than she managed to throw. Then a little rest back at the house and off to Cherry Creek for some rec-re-ating. Followed by a birthday celebration with her cousins. Remember the comment about dropping the ball on the party planning committee? While I did manage to throw in a birthday shirt to commemorate her day I completely failed in the cake department. Travis ran out to the only convenience/grocery store in the valley on the biggest day of their year and managed to grab a gallon of ice cream, a #2 candle (what are the odds?) and 1 (one) package of Ding-Dongs. My Hero! Should I mention there are 6 kids patiently waiting for cake.... While Grandma Bette made PB&J's. Abi enjoyed every bite!

The Ding-Dong cake was perfect for her. The other kids all wanted a piece too though... Abi was generous enough to share her special birthday cake with all 5 of her cousins and everyone got a scoop of ice cream and a spoonful of Ding-Dong. They loved it! So much in fact that Emi has requested Ding-Dongs for her birthday cake.

Not exactly sure she wanted to share....

Happy with her decision.

The Ding Dongs WERE awesome! You are up to July 17- do you think you can catch up and have Emi's birthday post in September? :)

I'm cracking up at the Ding Dong cake! Love it! It will definitely have to be part of the birthday tradition in your family. :)
